Chris Battaglia

Vice President / Group publisher of Pensions & Investments (P&I)

Chris Battaglia currently serves as Vice President / Group publisher of Pensions & Investments (P&I), the pre-eminent international newspaper of money management, and Business Insurance, the publication serving executives responsible for risk management, insurance, benefits, and brokerage in the global insurance and reinsurance arena. He is responsible for managing the brand’s businesses including the biweekly newspapers, digital and conference, data and research products. In this role, he has earned a reputation for innovation, cultivating new business opportunities globally, while expanding the digital platforms of and, and launching a variety of custom-publishing initiatives, including the formation of P&I Custom Media and the P&I Research Center. Mr. Battaglia joined Crain Communications in 1991 as an advertising sales representative responsible for US and UK/European business development. Since then, he has held the offices of advertising sales director, associate publisher, and was promoted to publisher of Pensions & Investments in 2006. Mr. Battaglia was promoted to group publisher of P&I and Business Insurance in July of 2013. A 30-year veteran of business and financial publishing, Mr. Battaglia has also served as Vice President, Associate Group Publisher of The Industry Standard, a start-up media company which made publishing history during the internet boom, and has held key sales and management positions with YAHOO Inc., Corporate Finance magazine and Investment Dealer’s Digest. He served for many years as the vice chairman of American Business Media’s Publishers Committee and is actively involved as a media industry expert in financial services. He began his career in marketing at Merrill Lynch, Pierce, Fenner & Smith after earning a bachelor’s degree from Ithaca College.

Harry Smorenberg

Harry is a financial services marketing and positioning strategist. He previously worked at Banque Paribas and ABN AMRO and was a director at two leading strategic consultants. He is a leading contributor to innovation in both the retail and corporate payments and transaction space. He has also been actively involved in developing solutions in financial planning, international pensions and 'social innovations'. His strength is in catalyzing institutions into developing vision and strategies, and in identifying and implementing client-centric solutions. He is a columnist and guest speaker, sits on several advisory boards and regularly publishes in leading international media.

Eric Eggink

Studied two Doctoral Studies at the University of Amsterdam.
Was concept developer and producer of  television- and radio programs for the largest broadcasting organization in The Netherlands.

Entered  the Social Security area as Director of Communications at the Sociale Verzekeringsbank in Amsterdam.
Became one of the first reputation management and stakeholder communications experts at the Dutch branch of BBDO, member of the listed Omnicom Group,  and was partner of this international communications group for over 12 years.

Eggink published the first Handbook of Internal Communications and continued writing about change, leadership in organizations, reorganizations and adaptive organizations.
Eggink is CEO of Eggink Van Manen communication consultancy. His agency works for large National and International companies and organizations (Profit and non Profit).
Eggink is specialized in positioning, issue management, crisis management and ‘in control’ management. Building on strong reputations is one of his leading reads in his professional life.
